Dragon Eyes Shawl crochet pattern

Yes, my second easy crochet pattern is here! If you want something that looks advanced but isn’t really that hard to achieve, this will make you look like you’re a crochet pro! The Dragon Eyes shawl is beautifully detailed and lacy shawl. Much easier than it looks! Asymmetrical triangle lace crochet shawl, coming straight up!

The Dragon Eyes shawl got it’s name from all the puff stitches that look a little bit like eyes. It’s a little bit asymmetrical in shape, like a pressed out triangle, and worked from the point up.

You can use almost any yarn you like. I used Scheepjes Whirl, color Mid Morning Mocharoo for this one, with a 3.0 millimetre hook. A whirl is about a 1000 meters of yarn. How big it gets depends on how many repeats you make and the thickness of the yarn you choose. If you want a big shawl and not using a Whirl, you might have to use more than just one or two skein. I did 8 repeats in total with the whirl, counting the first rows as well. That means I have 16 rows of “eyes” and then I went for the edge-rows. Mine is about 150x190x118 centimetres after finished and blocked.

It’s a written pattern and it has no chart. There is a pattern guide with step-by-step pictures of all the rows to make it easy to follow. I myself can sometime struggle with written patterns, depending on how clear and easy they are to follow. That’s why I’ve tried to make this pattern as easy as possible to follow with both text and pictures to guide you right. And I’ve put in some boxes with extra tips and tricks when needed 🙂
